Directly behind the Tower and Grand Galleries are the Grapevine Settlement to City Museums campus, located in Ted R. Ware Plaza. The Settlement to City Museums give visitors a glimpse into the past, allowing them to discover what life was like over 100 years ago for Texans in a small township. The museum plaza is home to two 19th century pioneer homes and a school house. Although the Keeling House was extant to the site, the other buildings were relocated to the corner of Church and Hudgins Streets from around the Grape Vine Prairie and restored to create this museum area.
Since Grapevine was an area hub for commerce, the plaza and the museums located there speak to life on the Grape Vine Prairie and to the larger story of settling Texas. The three museums, The Donald Schoolhouse Museum, The Keeling House Museum and the Grapevine Cotton Ginner's Museum, feature educational exhibits, hands-on activities and a collection of artifacts dating back to the 19th century.
